Our new home - Monroe Harbour Marina

Posted April 6, 2004

We are home at last in Sanford.  Stay tuned as we develop pictures and edit stories of our nearly perfect three-day trip down the St. Johns river.  My fondness for the Gardner diesel engines grew even stronger; my appreciation for river folk and their lifestyle was reinforced.

Monroe Harbour Marina

Stating this Friday (April2, 2004) Stephanie and I will be moving Tortuga from Jacksonville to Sanford, Florida.  This will be our new home for a year or so as we finish restoration and gain experience with Florida living.

At left is an aerial view looking to the East.
Tortuga will be docked at slip F-32
This harbor diagram shows the routes to
enter the marina for the two basin
approaches.  F-32 is mid-way down in the
West basin.
Here is a section of the chart that covers
Monroe Harbour Marina.

Telephone and Internet connectivity have always been problematic at marinas.  Monroe Harbour has taken a giant technology leap forward and provides wireless Internet to guest via the system from Pelagic Networks.  This network is based upon the IEEE802.11b technology (also known as WiFi).
